Inhambane MAXIXE Across the bay from Inhambane, Maxixe is a popular stopover point with travellers en route to Beira. There is a regular ferry service making the 4km trip between the two towns. The town is a busy, commercial centre on a stretch of coast lined with palm trees. The view of Inhambane at sunset is well worth a look. You can launch boats at Campismo da Maxixe and it is possible to arrange trips to Linga-Linga point. MORRUNGULO 7km north of the town of Massinga, you will find the turn-off for Morrungulo beach resort, which is a further 13km on dirt road. During the rainy season, you may need 4WD. The camp is surrounded by coconut palms and the view on approach to camp is stunning. This is a well-established resort offering camping and chalet accommodation, and day visitors are welcome with the option of hiring a barraca ($15) for the day.
