Welcome to the last issue of Time Out in the twentieth century! Our new format should make finding information a little clearer and facilitate those of you who like to read our magazine in both Portuguese and English.

This is a whole new era for Mozambique - the Maputo Corridor project is underway and there are more and more tourism and investment opportunities for travellers from South Africa. Several new hotels and restaurants have opened since our last issue, offering more choice of places to stay and to eat.

More new buildings are appearing on our skyline including the new CIMPOR and even more residential properties too. The coast Road (Av. Marginal) of Maputo is changing fast and Bairro Triunfo is gradually becoming part of the city. The newly-renovated Costa do Sol and camping site on the Marginal are indicative of the increasing numbers of visitors to the capital.

The new improved flight schedule from LAM offers direct flights to Lichinga in Niassa Province, and the increased number of flights to existing destinations will make your trip quicker and easier than ever before. To help you keep up with the ever-changing face of Mozambique, we have included a number of Internet addresses and publications for further reading. So, whether you like to surf the waves or the net, there's plenty on offer here in Mozambique.

Mozambique is entering a new era of prosperity and investment into the country is at an all time high. Time Out would like to welcome the Mozal employees and contractors who have come to work here in Matola and Maputo. The Mozal Aluminium Smelting Plant is the result of co-operation and investment by both Mozambican and South African Governments and other organisations, and we wish it every success over the coming years.
